HAPPINESS IS...

Happiness is having a kick-trash birthday and being 21!!!
(woot woot! it seems so much older than 20.
i still feel 16.)

Happiness is closing on your house the day after your birthday!
(HOMEOWNERS!)

Happiness is reading one word that will change your life forever.

(if i look really tired... it's cause i am. Tired is all i am lately...)

Just in case you can't read that word...

  It says pregnant.

THAT'S RIGHT!
there's a little pumpkin growing inside my tummy!

due to grace us with his/her presence on august 27th.

[i guess this will get the baby out of my system now :)]

Getting the "baby" out of my system.

So it seems like everyone around me is is trying to, or going to, or just had a BABY.

This situation is perfect for me :)
I can get all "the baby" out of my system by simply using everyone else's babies!

I am a little stupid though. I forgot to take pictures before i gave most of everything away.

I started making little cute whipey cases that are freaking adorable and have seen them sell on etsy shops for a gazillion dollars.  Just in case you don't know what i'm talking about, here is a picture.

(keep in mind, i DID NOT make these ones.
i just found this picture in a google search.)

Then I saw Molly's adorable baby, Daisy, and the freaking cute thing she was sucking on.

Molly is so creative and cute, so I stole her idea and made some bling-bling pacifiers too
to help relieve the need for all things baby.

But the most fun project that i did were hats! And i didn't even copy/steal anyones idea!
Yay me for being somewhat original in my creativity!

Daisy Lou Reynolds

Now i am all out of friends with girl babies... :(
and i bet Molly and Caitlin are sick of me texting them saying i have another present for their baby.
So, will someone else have a baby soon, so that i can get all my motherly hormones out of my system!?
Thanks.

Introducing...

When we got Nelly, we were unaware that she was really sick. But after a very expensive visit to the Vet, 9 different shots a day, and an IV twice a day for a week, she's all better!
We loved her too much after just even on the ride home to let her be sick.

She was really lethargic when we brought her home, and we thought she was just a calm puppy.
But now that she doesn't have Parvo, she is more than a handful to say the least.
She chews anything, anywhere.
And she's already grown like 6 feet since we've had her!

I get sooo sad when I have to leave her to go to work
and I hear her whining cause she wants to come with me.
If i feel this way about a DOG,
I wonder what it will be like when I have a human CHILD!

Come by and visit our new puppy child!
(but don't bring any puppies that haven't had their shots, cause Parvovirus stays for like a year!)

Squatters

Chasey Face and I are squatters, it's true.  We are living in a vacant house, that isn't ours, for free.
And we absolutely love it!

Chris and Katie moved to Colorado, but still have their house here, in Mesa. And until they can sell it, we are keeping it extra safe!!!!!
[you're welcome ;)]

I always knew i would love living in a house, but let me tell you,
I LOOOOOOOOVE LIVING IN A HOUSE! especially this one.

It's really fun spreading out all of our stuff! We had all of our things crammed and squished in one room at our apartment! Now we have more space and storage than we know what to do with! We have an OFFICE and a CRAFT ROOM and a GUEST ROOM and a MASTER BEDROOM and more than 1 BATHROOM and a BACKYARD for our bikes and 2 LIVING ROOMS!  Its a little overwhelming!

Although you may not think there are bad things about a house, there are. Let me name a few that i have encountered thus far;

1. I lose my shoes everyday. Now there is more than 1 room to take my shoes off at.
This poses a problem when I have to leave for work and end up running around the house in a frantic mess to find where I took my shoes off at,

2. I have to yell for Chase. In our 1 bedroom apartment I could talk to Chase from any room perfectly fine in a normal voice. Now, I have to yell to find where he's at.

3. I can't think of anything else bad.

Obviously, the good things outweigh the bad things a million to 1!
I am so happy to be here.
And i love cleaning it too.
I feel so grown up like a real wifey.

We are so blessed to have such amazing family in our lives.
I honestly don't know where I would be without my family
always looking out for me and standing there by my side.

And, I just want to say thank you to My big brother Christopher and his angel of a wife, my wonderful sister-in-law Katie, for thinking of us and entrusting us with their beautiful home. I promise we are taking good care of it!

A DEATH IN THE FAMILY...

We are gathered here together today
to celebrate the life,
and mourn the passing of

SHAQUIRA,
THE BLACK MYSTERY

i wrote a little something in her honor;

Oh truckie oh truckie,
you always got us were we needed to go.
you always towed what we needed to tow.
you never failed us in anyway,
and never led us astray.
although you've gone on to an unknown place,
and there's a new car in your parking space,
the memories of you will never slip our minds
i only hope your new owner is kind
so let me wipe a tear from my eye
and i'll stand here and wave good bye
one day, shaquira, we'll meet again.
until then, so long my friend.

Addictive Personality

so- i have an addictive personality.
if i do something and like it, i want it more and more and add a little something new every time.

just to name a few....

pete's fish and chips
dr. pepper
chase
ned's krazy sub
and last but not least...
cutting my hair

yeah. short hair is addictive. didn't you know? well good thing you read my blog and became informed. cause this addictive action is becoming a problem. especially with your truly.
this is what i have had on my mind lately.
(i would say "swooning over" but everyone and their dog says that, and i find it quite annoying actually)
i like long hair.
 i really do.
i wish i had long hair.
but the fact is,
i don't.
 and i have zero patience.
so.....
I NEED YOUR HELP!
it's a little extreme. and i think i've only come close to having my hair that short ever before.
should i take the jump!?
yea or nay?

a little surprise....

i am a nanny.
and as little perks to my job, i get to wake up 5 minutes before i have to LEAVE,
slap on some clothes, and go to work.
then later on,
i can come back home with the children,
put on a movie
while i take a shower
and they destroy my house.
that is exactly what happened today.
except when i opened the shower curtain this afternoon,
this is what i saw.
i knew it was almost her nap time.
but i didn't think she was that tired!

and i know what you're thinking...
i am a horrible nanny for letting her lie on the nasty bathroom floor
while i laugh and take pictures!

well- i JUST mopped those floors (although it might not look like it)
and i had to capture this rare and precious moment!
(but mostly it was really really funny)

but yeah, you're right.
i probably am a horrible nanny.

Quick Question...

Have you ever popped a button on your pants (for whatever reason...) and used a zip-tie to fix it?
I HAVE.

(can you say Tietjen Noodle!?)

Have you ever Become so obsessed with making headbands?
I HAVE.

Have you ever gone on a double date just to do ear candles?
I HAVE.

Have you ever forgot a dish with food in it and your kitchen was smelling super rank and you couldn't figure out what it was and then you remembered there was still food in that Crock Pot from two weeks ago and when you went to open it it smelled like a mixture of poop and throw up and it made you gag so bad that you had to find the nearest thing to tie around your mouth/nose area, (that happened to be the pink Richards' Shirt), to shield you from the nastiness and from throwing up in the sink while you washed it and your husband was in the corner almost throwing up and spraying the entire can of air freshener ?

I HAVE.

Dinner Games.

So, after work yesterday Chasey Face and I went to run some of our long list of errands.
First on the list was to get all our textbooks for the upcoming semester
that actually started 3 days ago.
So, after spending our life's savings on books we will probably hardly use
(most of them used of course...),
we were hungry.
We both love us some good Chipotle- so Chipotle it was!
I love to eat. AND I love to play games.
so why not do both at once!
(i know-smart.)

Chase and I play this game called
"guess what person in Chipotle drives what car parked outside Chipotle"
The name is part instructions to the game.
Then we sit and watch as each person finishes up eating and
walks to their automobile of choice.
It takes quite the skill and you would be surprised who-drives-what most the time.
Regardless of what you may think- I usually win. :)

We also might throw in another game if we are feeling crazy called
"guess the occupations of the people eating inside chipotle"
Again with the two in one name/game instructions.
I usually win this one too.
Even though we never really know who wins
because we don't exactly follow anyone to their job.
(I want to, but Chase said its probably not a good idea.)
But i just have a gut feeling- I'm usually always right.
Plus- Chase always thinks everyone lives at home with their mom.
That's his answer 99% of the time. I'm serious.

What games do YOU play when you eat!?
Please do share!

oh boy.... hahahahhahahahahahah

Chase emailed this to me today.....

Thursday, August 6, 2009

Hey, let's drive to Colorado... right now.

ON FRIDAY as i was sitting on the couch feeding Sanvi a bottle, i thought to myself 'This is the longest day of my life. Then i looked at the clock and i still had 8 hours left of work...

Ok, it wasn't really that dramatic- but I'm serious... Friday was soooo long. And to make it even longer, right after work, I was scheduled to cater! (Which was SUPER fun because it was with Katie R. and it was easy peasy).

So, I FINALLY get to go home and Chase is there waiting for me. I sit down and he says
"Let's go somewhere."

I'm thinking movies, out to eat.. blah blah. So I say alright!
Then he says ...
"Let's just pack a bag, go to the airport and find the cheapest flight."

I wasn't completely against this idea. I needed some excitement! So after looking up cheap flights + hotels and the whole shabang, we decided to drive somewhere instead. And that somewhere is somewhere Chase grew up and somewhere I've always wanted to go!
So there you have it! We packed our bags, booked a hotel, got directions and were out of there by midnight!
We drove alllllllllllllll night.
I fell asleep for a few hours and woke up to this...
awww.. i loved Colorado already.
We finally got there at 10 am.
(we probably would have gotten there soooner if we hadn't stopped to sleep in New Mexico on the side of the road for an hour for the sake of not swerving off the road and dying in a horrific accident and no one would have known where we were.)

New Mexico... Truly the Land Of Enchantment.

After getting to Colorado, we stopped at a bathroom to freshen up and change our clothes, then went straight to the GOLD MINE TOUR! Which was Awesome! (and freezing!)

Before the tour started we panned for gold. Chase was so excited he found one!

I gave up and just filled my gold bag full of sand.

We are all suited up and ready to go!
(keep in mind neither of us had ANY sleep)

We rode in big yellow carts that rode on the tracks down the mine. I wish i had a picture.
You could seriously feel the degrees dropping.

Our guide used some REALLY loud machinery to demonstrate how they do it!

Our guide, Frank. He was super friendly to me,
but didn't want to take the picture with Chase hahahahah

After the mine, we went down to the old rundown mill to see what they did with the gold after they mined it. We didn't take the tour, we just walked around and looked at the awesome old buildings. I couldn't help thinking this place would have been AWESOME to take wedding photos at!
So, we tried to take our own.
Failed attempt.

The buildings were awesome.

We also went to a honey factory.

Those are bees.

We walked downtown to the shops and found a flea market that was rad, and all the houses looked like this.

People actually lived in them!

Everywhere was so beautiful... we couldn't help ourselves.

This one's for Chels. We saw it downtown in a corner.
...Banksy?

I think you can officially say, i am obsessed with CO. I would move there in a minute!

I think i liked this trip so much because nothing at all was planned!
I think we'll start doing that more often!

So, I was about to write this post and it all seemed too familiar. Then i realized i had just written the same thing in my journal.
So instead of wasting time, you all get a sneak peek into my very own personal journal.

(nobody was ever meant to read these.... so please excuse the sloppy writing and grammatical mistakes. )

enjoy.
